where have I been

21 June, 2011

I promise to be more active.
Our most interesting project at the moment is the Eco Educational centre we are building with Dept of Education, Jewish National Fund of SA and charitable a Trust.
It will be in Hammarsdale. Our architect John Ferguson is working on the Design, Nick Alcock of Khanyisa will be helping with developing exciting programmes. Debby Shapiro is keeping it together and the Dept of Ed is being wonderfully cooperative. The idea is that young learners will visit the centre with their class on an organized outing for a day of fun and learning about the ecology. It is part of their formal curriculum. We want them also to get a sense of the practicality of the information; they will be able to use the new knowledge at home. It could be about growing veggies, waste management, better use of water.
There are lots of people out there with good ideas. If you’re one of them and want to share your thoughts feel free to contact us.
