Well here we are at long last

17 May, 2011

We have been talking about blogging for ages.  Thanks to Charlotte and Shawn, here we are.

The plan is to share with your the human side of our work.   To look at our pictures or read our reports we sound like simply bricks and mortar people.  Not so.  Lots of emotional and good stuff happens during the course of our work.

We recently hosted some great Holland volunteers.  The Vebego Foundation of the Vebego Group funded the project.   Volunteers from the company gave their personal time and frankly “sweat” to come to South Africa.   They worked as common labourers, hauling blocks, mixing cement etc.

I’m looking forward to getting some of their stories which we will post on our facebook site.

MANDELA DAY  is going to be huge for us.   eLAN property developers have adopted the New Guelderand School at Blythedale Beach (an eLAN development). Together, eLAN and Project Build   are inviting corporate groups of 8/10 people to join us on the 18th July for the morning to paint classrooms.  To brighten the lives of the young learners.  Email me at  if this captures your imagination.   The morning will end with refreshments and cultural entainment.  You will love it.  Even more you will love the “feel good feeling” of having spent a couple of hours in the name of Madiba.  Speak to your colleagues, speak to your boss.  Each group costs R2000.

I’ll post some pics of the school soon
